Explain the success of Greg James since his take over of the Radio 1 Breakfast Show in 2018.
Greg has been described as an 'everyman' which automatically gives him a wide appeal as it suggests that he can talk to and relate with anyone, which he needs to be able to do with his job. Because he is such as a relatable man, people feel that the licence fee is justified as people want to listen to and enjoy his show regardless of the price. This is shown through his gain of over 250,000 new listeners within his first few months of hosting the show. He also keeps the listeners attracted by keeping political views to a minimum and therefore doesn't potentially offend anyone with his views.
